Come join the fun and fast-paced growing team of experts at Nederveld Forensic Engineering and Fire Investigation. Nederveld Inc. is looking for an experienced engineer with a structural emphasis to assist with failure analysis assignments for it’s Chicago and Columbus area offices.
This position is primarily an “out of the office” position. You will travel to various sites to determine the cause of failures primarily related to building systems. Driving to assignment(s) throughout the day is part of this job and overnight stays are sometimes required. One – two days in the office per week can be expected.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Licensed Professional Engineer or Licensed Structural Engineer
• 5 or more years of engineering design experience
• Ability to apply theories and knowledge to real world situations
• Self-starter and desire to continually seek additional knowledge
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Climb ladders, walk on roofs, enter attics and crawlspaces
• Kneeling, squatting, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Drive to assignments throughout the day
• Ability to pass a background check

High Definition Scanning
HDS Modeling Detailer
We’re looking for someone that is able to prepare detailed 3D drawings using Revit and Sketchup from existing condition data from a high definition scanner. This person should be proficient in both Revit and Sketchup to adequately perform the duties. Knowledge of architectural details and building assembly is preferred. This person should also be able to work under pressure of tight deadlines when presented. Efficient use of time and be able to work well alone by managing time wisely is necessary. Attention to detail and accuracy of the computer model is essential for this position. Modeling drawings will consist of various architectural features as well as possibly mechanical and plumbing details. Knowledge of these general building systems is important.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficient with Revit
• Proficient with Sketchup
• Architectural Detailing Experience
• Able to work full days seated at a computer terminal
• Self starter
• High attention to detail
• Ability to organize multiple tasks and priorities
