Urban Land Use Academy

Urban Land Use Academy
At the annual Urban Land Use Academy presented by the Michigan Association of Realtors, Terry Sanford of Nederveld joined with Peter Allen of the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and Peter Allen Associates to analyze various urban sites. The purpose of the analysis was to determine if the sites would be ideal for redevelopment. Peter and Terry used their expertise in planning, development and real estate to walk participants through the ideal due diligence and site analysis process.

Terry Sanford also presented two case studies on redevelopment of two downtown Grand Rapids sites. One site in the East Hills historic district area, know as Fairmont Square, is home of the historic D. A. Blodgett building. As part of the revitalization this historic building will undergo renovation during the time of the new construction for the mixed use area.  The second is a an urban infill site known as West Town Gardens.  This site is will be home to traditional row housing in an emerging neighborhood.
